Plex and "Automatically Adjust Quality"

Totally unrelated to machine learning, but - as an important side note - if you are using the Plex media server and find that your videos are pausing frequently during playback, obviously the first, second and third things you should check are the speed and resources of your Plex serving infrastructure. After that, of course you can check your network... and maybe even the power of your playback device. However, if - after checking all of that - you still find yourself stuck, the setting that just proved to be the "magic bullet" for me is "Automatically Adjust Quality," which is under Quality in the settings of the playback device itself. For whatever reason, this allowed my context that has been getting stuck to play completely through without interruptions. Observing it, I notice that the actual bandwidth seems to fall over the course of playback - so I'm suspecting a problem with my router. I will investigate that more but, without having used this setting and looked at its feedback, I would likely never have come to this conclusion.
